Introduction & Scope
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Mert Burak Dervisoglu ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information in connection with the mobile application QR Secure Scan and its related features (collectively, the "App") on Android & iOS.
We act as the data controller for personal data processed through the App. By downloading, accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, the App may involve the following categories of information:
- On-device data. Content you create in the App (such as history, favorites, preferences and settings) is stored locally on your device and, unless stated otherwise below, is not transmitted to us.
Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions. Each is used only for the feature it supports and only when you use that feature. You can grant or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings:
- Camera — to scan QR codes and barcodes. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.
- Contacts — only when you choose to save a contact from a scanned code, or generate a contact (vCard) QR code.
- Location — only to open or generate location-based (map) QR codes when you specifically request it.
- Microphone — used only by features that explicitly require it; not used for background recording.
- Storage / Photos — to save a generated code, or to scan a code from an image you select.
- Wi-Fi information — to read or generate Wi-Fi connection QR codes.
The App may use an internet connection for standard operating-system functions and to open links you choose to open; this is not used to transmit your personal content to us.
How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, maintain and improve the App and its features;
- To diagnose problems, fix bugs and ensure stability and security;
- To prevent fraud, abuse and cheating, and to enforce our terms;
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Data Retention
Data created in the App (such as history, favorites and settings) is stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing it within the App or by uninstalling the App. We do not keep copies on our servers.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect information, such as encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing), request data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Residents of Türkiye have rights under the KVKK — see our KVKK notice; residents of the EEA/UK have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing", as well as the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, which may be higher — for example up to 16 in parts of the EEA under Article 8 GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact mertburakdervisoglu@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not enroll the App in child-directed store programs (such as the Apple Kids Category) or use child-directed advertising settings.
Third-Party Links & Content
The App may display, link to, or open third-party websites, apps or content that we do not control — for example, a website encoded in a QR code you scan. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, accuracy or safety of those third parties, and this Policy does not apply to them. Any security warnings the App shows about scanned content are informational only and are not a guarantee of safety; we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party before providing information to them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with a revised effective date shown above. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice where required. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
